A DAY OF REST IN TOFINO. WELL SORT OF! 21/09/2017

Well this morning we had a lie in and decided to take a short stroll to to the local bakery for our breakfast, cappuccino for both of us, croissant for me and muffin for Lynda. Back to the room then for a morning trying to catch up on the blog. Sorry it has gone out of sync but out adventure has been pretty hectic and we loose track of the days. You'll be pleased to know that with this post we will be right up to date. By lunchtime the sunshine and the view from our balcony seemed much more appealing than struggling with the lap top so we decided to go for a walk and find some of the local beaches. Unfortunately there are not many decent trails but the few there are are well signposted and carry plenty of information boards about the local area, history, flora and fauna.Well the short stroll turned out be a fair few kilometers. On return to town found a great ice cream parlour, where among all the other flavors they had one called Tiger Tiger... orange and licorice, which tast...

TOFINO- WHALES AND FISH .TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY 19 & 20/09/2017.

The view from our room is stunning and the water way is busy with all types of boats moving through the channel between the main island and one of the hundreds of others which scatter this part of the Pacific Ocean, along with plenty of sea planes that not only cater for the tourists, of which there are still quite a few, but also the small isolated 1st Nation Communities that live on the surrounding islands. Had an interesting evening meal in a place called Wolf in the Fog , which consisted of Fried Rockfish and Deep Fried Herring for starters and then a delicious piece of Halibut which we shared for main course. Tuesday morning was an early start as we had our first Whale Watching trip booked! Following a quick safety brief we soon set sail for our 3 hour cruise around the local water ways.
